HVAC Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of data center HVAC systems and supporting infrastructure with minimal supervision.
• Perform all duties of an HVAC Technician I, including preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and shop drawings.
• Support air and water balancing efforts to optimize energy use and maintain comfort levels.
• Gain experience with routine and emergency maintenance and repairs on a variety of HVAC equipment, such as:
  • Air and water-cooled reciprocating chillers
  • Centrifugal and screw package chillers
  • Natural gas boilers and unit heaters
  • Electric duct heaters
  • Cooling towers
  • Pneumatic, DDC, and Variable Frequency Drive controls
  • Air distribution systems, including AHUs, FCUs, fans, and related devices
  • Various types of water pumps used in HVAC applications
• Travel up to 30% as required for job duties.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 3 years of commercial HVAC service experience required; 4 years preferred
• Knowledge of refrigeration principles
• Strong understanding of basic electricity for HVAC and proficiency with diagnostic tools and instruments
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software
• HVAC/R Servicing Certificate (preferred)
• EPA Universal refrigerant recovery certification (preferred)
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be a US citizen; ability to obtain security clearance is preferred
