SummaryThe Machine Operator supports the production of raw cable to required specifications. The Cable Machine Operator will set up, run and help problem solve Tape Wrapping Equipment, Braiding Machines, Extrusion Machines and Specialized Wire Equipment.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEffectively operate cable manufacturing machines and basic mechanical machines
Perform machine setups
Diagnose and help resolve basic problems with machinery
Read and follow work instructions to manufacture quality cable
Complete required documentation and traceability logs
Complete in-process quality control procedures
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience, 1-2 years of Technical school preferred
1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong mechanical aptitude
Ability to read micrometers and calipers
Ability to perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply and divide), including working with fractions and decimals.
Ability to work with small hand tools
Ability to read, write and speak English
Experience with computer applications
Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
Ability to stand for up to 8 hours/day
