E&IC Engineer

This is a remote position.

We are seeking a mid-level Electrical & Instrumentation Controls Engineer to design, update, and modernize control system architectures in nuclear and heavy industrial environments. This role owns the full engineering lifecycle of replacement and upgrade projects, from concept design through integration into Distributed Control System networks.

The engineer evaluates aging infrastructure, develops modern control solutions, and ensures seamless communication across industrial networks while aligning with plant safety and cyber-security standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop full control system design packages including wiring, device selection, PLC logic pathways, and documentation
  
• Evaluate obsolete or failed hardware and engineer compliant modern replacements
  
• Configure and document IP addressing and network parameters for new devices
  
• Deliver drawings, specifications, and integration packages for contractor execution
  
• Support modernization projects involving Ovation, AP1000, and similar nuclear platforms
  
• Ensure upgraded systems integrate smoothly into existing DCS environments
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  
• 5+ years supporting nuclear, utility, or heavy industrial control systems
  
• Strong working knowledge of DCS architecture and industrial communications
  
• Experience replacing and upgrading control hardware and instrumentation
  
• Ability to read P&IDs, loop sheets, and wiring diagrams
  
• Familiarity with cyber-security implications in control system design
  
• Experience with PLC-based control systems and field instrumentation
  
• Strong documentation and client coordination skills
