Based in Queen Creek, AZ | Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM (Four 10s)

Imagine this

A customer’s medium-voltage breaker trips unexpectedly. You jump on a remote session, interpret their readings, guide them through a safe diagnostic sequence, and get them back online. Back at the bench, you’re rebuilding a breaker, integrating updated components that boost dielectric strength and mechanical reliability, and then verifying performance to IEEE/ANSI and Powell FAT standards. By day’s end, you’ve upgraded a unit’s continuous current rating, adjusted control voltage, and added an undervoltage or second-trip device—leaving the work area as organized and safe as you found it.

Your mission

• Deliver remote technical assistance and perform hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and testing for medium-voltage electrical distribution equipment.
• Build, refurbish, rebuild, repair, and test circuit breakers, contactors, grounding devices, and similar apparatus.
• Apply current and future design enhancements to legacy Powell equipment to improve performance.
• Conduct testing in accordance with IEEE/ANSI requirements and Powell Factory Acceptance Testing procedures.
• Execute electrical/mechanical upgrades, including control voltage changes, higher continuous current ratings, and adding undervoltage/second-trip accessories.
• Read and interpret Powell schematics and wiring diagrams; retrieve/print required drawings from the Powell database.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment while partnering with internal and external customers on field orders.

How you’ll collaborate

You report to the Breaker Department Manager and routinely coordinate with Project Management, Sales, and Quality Assurance to align solutions with customer needs.

Experience and education

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience.

Technical toolkit

• Foundation in electrical theory, safety, and applied practices.
• Fluency with Oracle, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Hands-on with: Hi-Potential test set, insulation resistance tester, multimeter, and dial calipers.
• Proficient with common hand tools; strong mechanical aptitude.
• Clear written/verbal communication; proven problem-solving skills preferred.
