Performance Marketer (remote)
The Company
We’re Tallwave, a digital agency. We’re a curious, competitive group of data-driven marketers, designers, and creative problem solvers who move fast to help our clients achieve their most ambitious goals. We find parity boring, and we’re constantly challenging ourselves to deliver innovative solutions with speed, precision, and impeccable craftsmanship. We dream big, we drive results, and we’ll make a lasting impact on our clients’ businesses.
Our ambitions are too big to leave room for individual egos, and the true measure of our success is what we can accomplish together. Our culture balances individual aspirations and accountability with each other. We value selflessness, humility, and tremendous work ethic. This drives an inspiration and dedication that can be felt across the organization.
The Job
Are you someone who embraces an unconventional way of thinking? Do you persevere even when the going gets tough? Are you passionate about teamwork, using a “we” not me mindset? Do you sweat the details and solve both technical and business problems with thoughtfulness and precision? We’re an ambitious, nimble organization and although we’ve been around for over a decade, we operate with the passion, entrepreneurial spirit, and bias toward action of a startup. We are nimble, quick thinkers and are dedicated to finding talent that wants to help us grow the business to new heights. If this sounds like you, then we want to hear from you!
Our Paid Media team is essential to the overall digital marketing strategy and campaign execution for our clients. The Performance Marketer will lead these efforts remotely through collaboration with internal and external teams to deliver the best media strategies and solutions. An experienced, self-driven Paid Media professional is essential to success in this role.
The Person
Tallwave seeks out individuals who are a cut above. Their exceptional skill, diverse perspectives, obsession for winning together, and relentless pursuit of continuous self-improvement, both professionally and personally, give them an innate ability to lead, innovate, and inspire. They have well-honed philosophies and points of view in their areas of expertise, they think unconventionally, and their endless curiosity pushes them to constantly explore, learn, improve, and try new things.
The Skills
The successful Tallwave Performance Marketer candidate will:
- Be able to fully strategize, develop, manage, and report on multi-channel digital paid media programs, with an emphasis on driving measurable performance outcomes (eg: growth, efficiency, and conversion), with minimal oversight.
- Own performance against defined KPIs (eg: CPA, ROAS, CVR, etc.) and proactively adjust strategy to improve results.
- Be able to successfully manage and prioritize multiple client accounts simultaneously, each with different goals, budgets, and levels of complexity.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of client goals and business objectives and how paid media can support the client in meeting those goals and objectives.
- Be able to conduct thorough paid media audits with thoughtful insights and actionable recommendations.
- Be able to build strategic media plans based on market research, historical client data, audit findings, and data from available digital media tools.
- Design and execute ongoing experimentation programs to drive continuous performance improvement.
- Have deep hands-on experience in platforms like Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, Facebook Business Manager, and Google Analytics.
- Experience applying account-based marketing (ABM) principles within paid media to drive engagement and conversion across prioritized accounts or segments, with a focus on measurable performance outcomes.
- Experience managing and collaborating with third-party media vendors and platforms.
- Be able to manage day-to-day platform optimizations, ongoing campaign maintenance, vendor relationships, and pacing.
- Identify performance opportunities beyond media platforms, including landing pages, conversion paths, audience strategy, and measurement approach, in collaboration with internal teams.
- Be able to analyze, interpret, and communicate performance data in a meaningful narrative that connects media performance to business outcomes and informs future strategy.
- Be able to provide strategic recommendations for client growth.
- Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to identifying issues, testing hypotheses, and improving performance beyond standard best practices.
- Demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication interpersonal skills with internal teams, external partners, and clients.
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert for performance marketing and paid media best practices.
The Requirements
The ideal Tallwave Performance Marketer candidate will have:
- BA/BS in marketing, business, or technology fields (preferred).
- Demonstrated success owning hands-on paid media execution, optimization, and pacing in paid media platforms like Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Meta Ads, and TikTok Ads.
- Experience planning and optimizing media across different stages of the funnel.
- Demonstrated experience being accountable for performance results, not just campaign execution.
- Proficiency in various performance analysis and reporting tools such as Google Analytics, Looker Studio, and Google Sheets.
- Excellence in strategic thinking and problem solving.
- Excellence in communication and relationship building, both internally and externally.
- Very strong attention to detail.
- 4+ years of hands-on digital performance marketing experience, including independent ownership of accounts.
