Direct Counsel is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate to join the Litigation Practice Group of a leading law firm in Scottsdale . This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated attorney with strong writing skills, trial-readiness, and business litigation experience to join a dynamic and esteemed legal team.

The Litigation Associate will play an active role in managing complex litigation matters, including pre-trial discovery, motion practice, and client communications. You’ll have the opportunity to second-chair larger cases and first-chair smaller matters , gaining direct courtroom experience and client interaction.

This role offers a high level of responsibility and autonomy, with strong mentorship and collaboration across the firm’s litigation practice.

• Review and analyze case facts, providing accurate legal recommendations.

• Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and memoranda.

• Assist lead trial attorneys with pre-trial strategy, discovery, and witness preparation.

• Handle pre-trial motions and court appearances in both state and federal courts.

• Prepare and argue motions for summary judgment.

• Prepare and depose witnesses and deponents effectively.

• Manage smaller commercial litigation cases independently.

• Contribute to strategic discussions on case development and trial preparation.

• Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.

• Licensed and in good standing in Arizona.

• 3+ years of recent business litigation experience.

• Strong familiarity with federal and state court procedural rules.

• Exceptional legal research, writing, and drafting skills.

• Strong negotiation and advocacy abilities.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team or independently as needed.

• Proven ability to manage cases efficiently and meet deadlines under pressure.
