The Outreach Specialist will facilitate both virtual and in-person meetings with community partners to gather insights on best practices, challenges, and gaps in services related to veteran homelessness. They will collaborate closely with the Program Coordinator and Data Analyst to help develop a comprehensive, statewide strategy aligned with federal, state, and local resources.

This is a unique opportunity for a passionate professional dedicated to making a tangible impact in ending homelessness among veterans in Arizona.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct targeted outreach to key stakeholders within the assigned CoC region.
• Facilitate virtual and on-site meetings (individual and group) to collect feedback on current strategies, challenges, and opportunities.
• Identify and compile community services and resources not currently listed in existing databases.
• Collaborate with the Program Coordinator and Data Analyst to support the development of a unified statewide plan addressing veteran homelessness.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with diverse community stakeholders.
• Attend all virtual team and individual meetings.
• Travel within the assigned CoC region as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum one year of experience in community outreach or a similar role.
• Strong verbal communication and facilitation skills.
• Proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience using social media and digital tools for outreach and engagement.
• Proficiency with virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Knowledge of HUD-VASH, SSVF, GPD, and other federal housing programs.
• Understanding of best practices in homeless services.
• Familiarity with data analysis and program evaluation.
• Must reside in Arizona and be able to travel within the assigned CoC region.
• Knowledge of veteran-specific and general homeless service resources and key stakeholders in the region.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Communication, or a related field.
• Experience conducting SWOT analyses.
• Military service experience or background in working with veteran populations.
• Lived experience with homelessness or related challenges.

Working Conditions

• Remote position – laptop and cellphone provided.
• Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for community events or stakeholder meetings.
