Event Team Member

Our Event Team plays a vital role in creating memorable experiences for our clients and their guests. Team members work directly with guests, ensuring they have everything they need to enjoy their event.

Responsibilities include:

• Bartending for events, including preparing and serving a variety of cocktails, wine, and beer, maintaining a clean and organized bar area, monitoring guest consumption responsibly, and delivering friendly, efficient service throughout the event.
• Providing food and beverage service from predetermined menus, either tableside, from a buffet line or booth, as well as bussing tables and cashiering when needed.
• Assisting with event setup, room preparation, and post-event breakdown/cleanup.
• Maintaining a professional, welcoming, and guest-focused attitude at all times.

Ideal candidates will:

• Enjoy working with people in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Be reliable, adaptable, and willing to assist wherever needed.
• Have prior food and beverage or customer service experience; bartending experience is preferred but not required.

The Savoy Opera House is one of Tucson’s favorite venues for events. Located in the heart of Trail Dust Town, the home of Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse, the Savoy Opera House has been helping our clients host weddings, parties, reunions, conferences, and meetings since 1984. We even host special events open to the public to help Tucson and its guests have fun! That might be an Oktoberfest one month or a Fairy Tale Tea Party the next. The venue features a 5,000-square-foot dining room, 1,500 square foot dance floor, and an onsite commercial kitchen.

Successful events are all about planning the work and working the plan. Events are usually scheduled well in advance which means we can create solid plans. The Savoy isn't attached to a hotel so we try to deliver our guests the "unhotel" experience. If that sounds interesting to you, we would love to get to know you!

The Savoy Opera House is owned and operated by a local company that also owns and operates Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse, El Corral, and Trail Dust Town. The company originally started in 1962 and is in its second generation of ownership and third generation of management. This is a company with staying power, as our brands continue to thrive more than 60 years later. We feel that success is due to offering our clients and guests great experiences and supporting our teams.

Job Requirements:

• Previous bartending experience.
• Weekend availability.
• Help provide the guests of the Savoy Opera House with a positive and memorable experience.
• Properly present menu items to guests.
• Properly and responsibly serve alcoholic beverages to guests.
• Participate and engage with event staff to maintain a strong performing team.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Able to speak, write, and understand English fluently.
• Work independently, exercising sound judgment and initiative.
• Must be able to physically (with reasonable accommodation).
• Lift 10 pounds from the ground to above head.
• Stoop, bend, and squat.
