Electrical EstimatorJob Summary
Estimators analyze requests for proposals and bid documents and prepare cost estimates and proposals.
They work closely with operations personnel as well as owners, consultants, contractors, accountants, strategic partners, and other professionals to provide accurate and comprehensive financial and budget analysis for electrical construction projects.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesAnalyze drawings, specifications, addenda, and project schedules to gain a thorough understanding of project requirements.
Determine cost-effective means and methods to execute projects within budget.
Create and submit Requests for Information (RFIs).
Apply electrical code knowledge to project estimates.
Review quarterly bid metrics with leadership and establish goals to improve estimating efficiencies.
Identify production factors that influence the cost of services or products.
Prepare detailed material and labor estimates for projects.
Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, and company partners.
Manage and analyze bids from vendors and subcontractors.
Use bid data to prepare detailed cost analysis reports.
Present estimates and proposals to management and stakeholders.
Update project opportunities within sales and estimating software platforms.
Prepare and submit project proposals.
Analyze historical cost data to improve estimate accuracy.
Attend client meetings and represent the company professionally during project discussions.
Participate in contract negotiations with clients.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Ability to take direction and work collaboratively with leadership and project teams.
Degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience required.
Minimum of 6 years of industry experience required.
Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work.
Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
Ability to navigate active job site environments.
Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
