Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 4 total weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
• Holiday shifts based on unit coverage needs
• Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2, with high number of 1:1 assignments
• Float to other ICUs and telemetry units (4:1 ratio on telemetry)
• May be required to float to Westgate campus
• Must have Level I trauma experience
• ICU experience required, CVICU experience preferred
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed)
• Pass/fail SIMs lab on day 1 of orientation for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Strong IV skills required (no IV team available)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (CCRN preferred)
• Must have own vehicle for travel
• Natural hair color required, no facial piercings
• Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing
• Navy scrubs required
• 2-day floor-specific orientation
• Care for high acuity cardiac surgery patients, IABP, CRRT, lung transplant, ECMO, and other complex cases
• Perform bedside procedures including bronchoscopies, Swan-Ganz catheter management, and epidurals
• Use Cerner EMR system and Phillips telemetry monitoring

The facility features a 24-bed CVICU unit with advanced cardiac surgery capabilities including lung transplants, ECMO support, and complex cardiac procedures. The hospital maintains 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy services, with intensivists available during the day and on-call coverage at night, ensuring high-quality patient care for the most critically ill cardiac patients.
