Client Center Lead

Position Summary

The Client Center Lead supports our Neighborhood Food Center leadership in daily operations to include but not limited to: operational activities, training of staff, volunteers, and client services. Ensures all established policies, audits, security and procedures are adhered to within the department.

Hours are M-F, 6:30am-3pm

Essential Functions

• Oversees the daily operations of the warehouse, production, lobby, parking lot, and all program distribution to ensure a smooth and efficient flow.
• Ensures quality service and food is provided to all clients and customers of the facility.
• Responsible for maintaining all Feeding America, AIB, Maricopa County Health Department, and St. Mary’s Food Bank safety, sanitation, and operational standards.
• Supervises, assists, and monitors the accurate receiving and weighing of all incoming and outgoing product. Completes daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.
• Performs inventory cycle counting as required.
• Ensures the proper storage and rotation of all product in coolers, freezers, and dry
• Ensures proper product allocation before each production run and proper posting to the warehouse management system after each production/sorting run to provide accuracy to the inventory system.
• Monitors and controls the discarding of all waste, factoring in the possible use of food for other purposes.
• Completes quality checks on each production, re-pack, and sorting production run.
• Ensures quality customer service is provided to all internal and external customers of the facility.
• Is responsible for maintaining all applicable food safety standards. Maintains all Feeding America, Health Department, and St. Mary’s Food Bank safety, sanitation, and operational standards.
• Assure that all power equipment is properly maintained. (Forklifts, electric jacks, etc.)
• Works as a team with the Inventory, Transportation, Logistics, and other Operations management staff to ensure accurate and timely shipments and receiving.
• Supports other departmental operations as assigned.
• Opening and closing the facility as needed.
• Has a basic knowledge of how to operate within the Ceres software.
• Assist in loading and unloading product from trailers to assigned staging/storage areas.
• Performs temperature checks on incoming product, and trailers.
• Assists in the areas of staff training and cost reduction strategies.
• All other duties assigned by Client Center Management

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software, Microsoft outlook, as well as warehouse management system computer experience
• Reading, writing, excellent communication skills,
• Food safety,
• Must be Forklift certified
• Good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to multi-task.
• Integrity and leadership ability.
• Ability to provide solution based positive communication to internal and external customers.
• Ability to teach Operational procedures and company policies to staff and volunteers.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision.
• Planning and organization skills.
• Understanding of Ceres Inventory Systems
• Food Handler and/or Serv Safe certified.
• Knowledge of basic warehousing.
• Excellent customer service skills
• Knowledge of warehouse sanitation and safe food handling
• Commitment to the Food Bank’s Mission and Values

Supervisory Functions:
• Supports facility supervisor with the daily operation of the facility, volunteers, and employees.
• Responsibilities include training, planning, and directing daily task.
