Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Aerospace Assembler to join our team at a leading aerospace manufacturing facility located near Sky Harbor Airport. This role involves the assembly of engine cowlings and sheet metal components, supporting major industry players such as Honeywell, Bombardier, Gulfstream, and Cessna. The position requires reading blueprints and standard operating procedures to complete the assembly of built components and parts. Proficiency with power tools, hand tools, drills, and torque tools is essential, along with conducting electric bond checks.

Responsibilities

• Assemble engine cowlings and sheet metal components.
• Read and interpret blueprints and standard operating procedures.
• Utilize power tools, hand tools, drills, and torque tools for assembly.
• Conduct electric bond checks.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of manufacturing experience in an aerospace environment preferred.
• 2-3 years of assembly experience.
• Experience with large parts assembly.
• Basic quality verification practices including torque settings, electrical bond checks, and dimensional measurements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Honeywell specifications is a plus.
• Experience in automotive or other industries is acceptable.
• Familiarity with mechanical assembly, blueprints, and schematics.
• Background in air force, army, or marines is advantageous.

Work Environment

The aerospace manufacturing facility is located on-site at Honeywell near Sky Harbor Airport. The work environment is team-oriented, following Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement principles. The training shift is Tuesday-Friday from 11:30 am to 10:00 pm, transitioning to a Saturday-Monday schedule from 6:00 am to 6:30 pm after training. Employees work 36 hours and get paid for 40. Candidates must be able to train during the day for a few weeks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, Arizona.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
