Training Operations Lead – Logistics
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Employment Type: Contract (W2)
Position Overview
We are seeking a Training Operations Lead – Logistics to oversee the full training lifecycle for logistics and material handling personnel within a large-scale manufacturing environment. This individual will ensure all team members are properly trained, certified, and continuously developed to support efficient material flow, inventory accuracy, and overall operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Training Program Ownership:
Design, develop, and maintain role-based training programs for logistics functions including receiving, inventory management, picking/packing, kitting, line-side delivery, and shipping. - Safety & Certification Oversight:
Ensure all personnel complete required certifications such as forklift operation, rigging and load handling, heavy material movement, and spotter training prior to deployment. - On-the-Job Training (OJT):
Coordinate and oversee OJT trainers to provide hands-on instruction, evaluate skill development, and ensure proper qualification of all logistics roles. - Process & SOP Alignment:
Partner with operations leadership to ensure all training materials reflect current standard operating procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines. - Systems Training:
Lead training efforts on warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory tracking tools, and digital reporting platforms used across logistics operations. - KPI Tracking & Reporting:
Monitor training completion, certification readiness, and overall effectiveness; report progress in daily operational and safety reviews. - Continuous Improvement:
Improve training programs based on operational feedback, safety data, and performance metrics to drive efficiency and reduce risk. - Scalability & Workforce Support:
Scale training programs to support multi-shift operations and workforce growth from initial ramp-up through full production.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, warehouse, or supply chain training within manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environments
- Hands-on experience with forklift certification, rigging/load handling training, and material handling safety protocols
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tracking tools
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and shipping/dock safety practices
- Experience creating and delivering hands-on, competency-based training programs
- Strong data tracking and reporting skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Technology, or related field
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Compensation: $57/hour
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
