Visit our Careers website to learn more about careers at Applied. **Key Responsibilities** Design, collect data, analyze and compile reports on a variety of difficult process engineering experiments, within safety guidelines Perform hardware characterization on a variety of difficult systems, within safety guidelines Troubleshoot a variety of complex problems, perform Root Cause Analysis and resolve a variety of difficult process engineering issues Generate internal and external documentation for products, presentations and technical reports Interact with customers to resolve a variety of difficult process engineering issues/problems with limited supervision Measure film properties and interpret data Identify, select and work with vendors and suppliers with limited supervision Implement new technology, products and analytical instrumentation **Required Qualifications:** + Master's or PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering or related field. + Strong understanding of material properties, phase transformations, and microstructure-performance relationships. + Familiarity with failure analysis techniques (e.g., SEM, EDS, XRD). + Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic production environment. **Preferred Qualifications:** + 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role. + Experience with CVD or other thin film deposition techniques (e.g., PVD, ALD, PECVD). + Experience with statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing principles. + Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel, Python). + Experience supporting customers in high-tech industries **Additional Information** **Time Type:** Full time **Employee Type:** Assignee / Regular **Travel:** Yes, 10% of the Time **Relocation Eligible:** Yes The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable. For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
