Senior Human Resources Generalist
Job Description:
The Senior Human Resources Generalist is a hands-on, multi-functional HR professional responsible for managing daily HR operations while supporting strategic HR initiatives. This role requires someone comfortable rolling up their sleeves on tactical work (recruiting, onboarding, benefits, employee relations) while also advising leadership on people issues. This position is designed to grow into a Human Resources Manager as the organization scales.
Serve as the first point of contact for employees.
Handle employee relations issues with professionalism, confidentiality and fairness.
Provide guidance to managers on HR policies and procedures.
Manage and work with Senior Agency Recruiter on full-cycle recruiting including job postings, screening, interviewing and coordinating offers.
Manage onboarding process and ensure smooth assimilation of new hires.
Maintain compliance with federal and state employment laws (multi-state as applicable).
Update and enforce employee handbook and HR policies.
Track and manage required trainings, certifications and workplace safety requirements.
Administer benefits programs (health, retirement, leave management, etc.).
Partner with payroll/finance to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Assist employees with benefits questions and issue resolution.
Support performance management processes including reviews, goal setting and feedback cycles.
Drive initiatives that enhance company culture and employee engagement.
Help develop training programs in collaboration with department heads.
Partner with the CEO and company heads to align HR practices with business needs.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and scalable HR solutions.
Lay the foundation for a future HR team as the company continues to grow.
Responsibilities:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field (SHRM-CP/PHR preferred)
5+ years progressive human resources experience, preferably in insurance, financial services or professional services
Strong knowledge of human resources laws/regulations (Arizona experience preferred)
Proven ability to operate independently in a multi-entity organization
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — able to build trust with employees and executives alike
Highly organized, detail-oriented and adaptable to fast-changing priorities
Experience in HRIS systems (Paylocity experience preferred)
