Description:
A Fusion Bonder is responsible for assembling and bonding materials or components used in manufacturing processes. This role involves operating bonding equipment, reading blueprints, preparing materials, and ensuring products meet quality and safety standards. Fusion Bonders commonly work in aerospace, electronics, automotive, semiconductor, or advanced manufacturing environments.
Requirements:Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings.
- Prepare surfaces and materials for bonding processes.
- Apply bonding agents, adhesives, or fusion techniques according to specifications.
- Operate bonding equipment, ovens, presses, autoclaves, or related machinery.
- Monitor bonding cycles, including heat, pressure, and timing settings.
- Inspect finished products for quality, defects, and compliance with specifications.
- Perform rework or repairs on bonded assemblies when needed.
- Use hand tools, measuring instruments, and testing equipment.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and manufacturing standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with process improvements and troubleshooting production issues.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous manufacturing, assembly, or bonding experience preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and follow technical instructions.
- Experience using hand tools and precision measuring devices.
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Basic computer and documentation skills preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 25–50 pounds.
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and repetitive motions.
- Ability to work in confined spaces or around manufacturing equipment when required.
- Ability to wear required PPE and work with adhesives or chemicals safely.
