Lease Crutcher Lewis LLC
Phoenix, AZ

Job Description

Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

Lease Crutcher Lewis is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead large, complex data center and mission critical construction projects in Phoenix. This role is ideal for a construction leader who thrives in technically demanding environments, builds trusted client relationships, and can align project teams around safety, quality, schedule certainty, cost control, and operational excellence.

As Senior Project Manager, you will lead all aspects of project delivery, including client engagement, pursuit support, preconstruction, construction execution, closeout, and warranty. You will provide senior-level oversight for one large data center project or multiple complex projects, guiding project teams, trade partners, and stakeholders through highly coordinated work where schedule, safety, quality, commissioning, logistics, procurement, and risk management are critical to success.

The ideal candidate brings significant general contracting project management experience, proven leadership of large project teams, and demonstrated success delivering data centers, mission critical facilities, advanced technology, industrial, healthcare, or similarly complex projects. Experience in fast-growth markets, phased delivery, long-lead procurement, commissioning coordination, and highly collaborative client environments is strongly preferred.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • You build trust with clients by understanding their business priorities, communicating transparently, and helping the team make smart decisions around scope, cost, schedule, risk, constructability, and operational requirements.
  • You lead complex project teams with clarity, accountability, and a steady presence, especially in fast-paced data center environments where priorities, design details, procurement needs, and site conditions can evolve quickly.
  • You keep teams aligned around safety, quality, schedule commitments, budget performance, commissioning milestones, client expectations, and Lewis’ values.
  • You anticipate challenges early, elevate risks appropriately, and bring practical, solutions-oriented thinking to complex project conversations.
  • You develop strong project teams by setting clear expectations, mentoring others, delegating effectively, and creating an environment where people can do their best work.
  • You contribute to Lewis’ presence in the Phoenix market by representing the company with professionalism, ownership, and a strong client-service mindset.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Marketing and Client Relationships

  • Act as a leader in assigned marketing and business development activities, including pursuit support, RFP responses, interview preparation, and client engagement.
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with clients, design partners, consultants, trade partners, and internal teams.
  • Lead or support the sales process by helping shape win strategies, proposal content, project approach, team preparation, and interview messaging.
  • Serve as a trusted senior partner to clients by understanding their goals, anticipating needs, communicating openly, and helping resolve issues after they impact the project experience.
  • Represent Lewis in the Phoenix market with professionalism and an ownership mindset, maintaining relationships that support current and future opportunities.

Data Center and Preconstruction Leadership

  • Lead or actively support projects from early planning and preconstruction through construction, commissioning, closeout, and warranty.
  • Collaborate with owners, designers, engineers, estimators, superintendents, trade partners, commissioning teams, and consultants to align project goals, budget, schedule, scope, logistics, procurement, phasing, safety, and constructability.
  • Help guide early decision-making by identifying cost, schedule, procurement, design coordination, utility, equipment, commissioning, phasing, and constructability considerations.
  • Support conceptual budgets, GMP development, bid packages, scope reviews, clarifications, assumptions, value management strategies, and long-lead procurement planning.
  • Review drawings, specifications, design narratives, equipment requirements, and evolving design documents for completeness, coordination, constructability, code concerns, commissioning needs, and project risk.
  • Establish project administration procedures related to contracts, staffing, safety, quality, documentation, communication, reporting, and client expectations.

Project Management and Construction Execution

  • Provide senior-level management and oversight for one large data center project or multiple complex construction projects.
  • Coordinate estimating, purchasing, engineering, accounting, construction, safety, quality assurance, commissioning, and closeout activities.
  • Organize and lead project teams, including project managers, project engineers, superintendents, field teams, trade partners, consultants, and support resources.
  • Manage project financial performance, including cost reports, projections, billings, owner change orders, subcontractor agreements, invoices, payment processes, and monthly profit projections.
  • Lead construction schedules, logistics plans, procurement strategies, project reporting, meeting documentation, and communication routines.
  • Oversee submittals, RFIs, coordination documentation, insurance requirements, safety plans, SDS information, punch lists, commissioning support, closeout, warranty work, and follow-up services.
  • Partner with the superintendent and safety team to establish project-specific safety expectations, evaluate safety performance, support incident investigations, and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Coordinate peer reviews, project performance audits, lessons learned, and continuous improvement efforts on assigned projects.
  • Ensure assigned work delivers successful outcomes, including financial performance, schedule reliability, quality expectations, safety goals, client satisfaction, and strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and trade partners.

Leadership and Communication

  • Lead with clarity, accountability, sound judgment, and professionalism in both client-facing and internal project settings.
  • Communicate timely project information, risks, decisions, and performance updates to project stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Develop, mentor, and support project team members by providing feedback, coaching, career guidance, and opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with operational leadership on team assignments, workforce planning, staffing needs, and project resources.
  • Promote Lewis policies, procedures, values, and expectations related to safety, quality, people, labor relations, EEO, risk, reporting, and client service.
  • Participate in company committees, initiatives, industry associations, or market-building efforts that further Lewis’ interests.
  • Act as a representative of the company at all times, internally and externally, leading by example.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of general contracting project management experience, with demonstrated success leading large, complex commercial construction projects.
  • Experience delivering data centers, mission critical facilities, advanced technology, industrial, healthcare, life science, or similarly complex projects strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading preconstruction planning, conceptual estimating, budget development, subcontractor bidding, procurement, scheduling, constructability reviews, and risk management.
  • Strong understanding of construction documents, contracts, general conditions, subcontract documents, scope development, change management, cost reporting, scheduling, project controls, commissioning coordination, and closeout.
  • Ability to work effectively with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, commissioning teams, trade partners, jurisdictional authorities, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management technology; experience with tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project, Bluebeam, Procore, and Timberline/Sage or similar systems is preferred.
  • OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 and current CPR/First Aid certification desired.

KEY ATTRIBUTES

  • Builds trusted relationships and communicates clearly with clients, owners, designers, consultants, trade partners, field teams, and senior leaders.
  • Brings a strong client-service mindset, balancing advocacy for the client’s goals with sound project leadership, risk awareness, and practical decision-making.
  • Thrives in complex, fast-paced data center environments where scope, design, cost, schedule, procurement, commissioning, and site logistics must be tightly coordinated.
  • Leads with confidence, accountability, sound judgment, and a strong ownership mindset.
  • Balances big-picture project strategy with strong attention to detail, organization, time management, and follow-through.
  • Anticipates challenges, evaluates risk, and solves problems with a practical, team-oriented approach.
  • Adapts well to shifting priorities, evolving design information, changing client needs, and ambiguous conditions.
  • Develops others, delegates effectively, and helps create high-performing project teams.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety, quality, client service, and doing the right thing.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Requires work in office settings and on active construction sites, including data center and mission critical environments.
  • When onsite, employees are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the company’s safety policies, project requirements, and weather conditions.
  • Standard hours, plus evening and weekend work, work-related events, and schedule-driven project needs as required.

TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS

  • Primarily local travel between the Phoenix office, project sites, client meetings, trade partner locations, and industry events as needed.
