Honeymoon Sweets Bakery in Tempe, AZ is looking for an experienced wedding cake decorator to join our 20 person team.

Our ideal candidate is comfortable in leadership, self-driven, ambitious, and hard-working. You will be expected to design, and decorate wedding and custom cakes as well as cupcakes, cookies. 3 dimensional figurines in fondant or other edible materials.

Experience essential.

We book as many as 12 wedding cakes per week, a few times a year, along with specialty cakes. You will be responsible for prepping, building and decorating the cakes along with an assistant.

Qualifications

• You must have a minimum of 5 years of custom cake decorating and bakery experience.
• Must be knowledgeable in the latest decorating techniques using buttercream, fondant and gum paste.
• Must be proficient in artistic techniques, color matching,
• Must be able to communicate with clients when necessary to help develop and incorporate their design ideas into the final product.
• Must be able to follow recipes precisely; weighing, measuring, mixing and baking.
• Must be able to communicate clearly with other employees to perform your duties.
• Must be able to work quickly to complete the work in a timely fashion.
• Must keep your workstation clean, organized and sanitary and insure your ingredients are properly rotated to maintain freshness.
• Must exhibit good hygiene and follow all sanitation rules.
• Must have a current Arizona food handler certificate.

Responsibilities

• You will be expected to prepare, build and decorate cakes from start to finish and be completed in a timely fashion.
• Includes high volume cake production as well as specialty and occasion cake duties.
• You will work closely with a team of decorators and will need to communicate with bakers who supply your building blocks.
• Act in a professional manner and communicate with team leaders and office personnel.
