Scope of Position

To perform skilled clerical accounting tasks involving the application of bookkeeping principles to the maintenance of financial accounts and records. Responsibilities include posting, balancing and verifying a variety of accounts needed to maintain financial records to support the preparation of periodic summary reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Post customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
• Process daily bank deposits.
• Perform administrative and clerical tasks, such as data entry, preparing invoices, sending bill reminder, filing and scanning paperwork.
• Compile customer references for Credit decisions, enter new business partners.
• Customer service experience and should be able to communicate well to explain charges or policies.
• Balance daily and month end accounts receivable to deposit ledgers
• Under direction; investigate outstanding invoices, make collection calls and negotiate payment terms, and process liens for collections when necessary.
• Review and maintain records of contract payments and process necessary documents for payment.
• Compose emails and other correspondence on job-related issues.
• Track, monitor, log, sort, process and file electronic and/or hardcopy documents.
• Demonstrates superior customer service, integrity and a commitment to efficiency.
• Maintain professionalism and strong ethics while performing job duties

Required Education, Experience and Skills

• Bachelors Degree or currently pursuing college degree
• Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening
• General clerical and accounting experience
• Familiarity with CRM systems and practice
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
• Experienced using Microsoft Excel
