Job Summary:
In your role as a Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM), you will be responsible for overseeing and executing a variety of surveying projects while also supporting the development and growth of Nexgen’s Arizona operations. You will play a pivotal role in establishing best practices, supporting business development efforts, mentoring future team members, and upholding our commitment to excellence, innovation, and the highest standards of accuracy and customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Project Oversight : Manage and execute surveying projects from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with state statutes and company standards.
- Survey Execution : Conduct and oversee field surveys, including boundary, topographic, and construction staking surveys, utilizing GPS, Total Station, and other advanced equipment.
- Data Analysis and Mapping : Analyze survey data to prepare detailed maps and reports using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant software.
- Quality Assurance : Review and certify the accuracy of survey documents, ensuring all deliverables meet legal and regulatory requirements.
- Team Collaboration : Collaborate with field crews, CAD technicians, and project managers to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction.
- Client Communication : Liaise with clients to understand project requirements, provide updates, and address any concerns or questions.
- Regulatory Compliance : Stay informed about changes in surveying laws and regulations to ensure all practices remain compliant.
- Mentorship : Provide guidance and training to junior staff, fostering professional growth and maintaining high performance standards.
- Licensure : Active Arizona Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in good standing, issued by the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration. (A.R.S. Title 32, Chapter 1 and A.A.C. Title 4, Chapter 30.)
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or a closely related field from an accredited institution preferred. Equivalent combination of board-approved education and experience will be considered, consistent with Arizona licensing statutes. This may include a combination of formal education in land surveying, geomatics, engineering, or a related field and progressively responsible professional land surveying experience, such that the candidate meets Arizona’s minimum requirements for licensure eligibility (generally six years of combined education and/or qualifying experience, with education counting for up to four years). - Experience : Minimum 6 years of progressive land surveying experience, including a combination of education and professional practice, as recognized by Arizona licensure requirements. (A.R.S. Title 32, Chapter 1 and A.A.C. Title 4, Chapter 30.)
- Technical Proficiency : Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, GPS, Total Station, and other surveying equipment and software.
- Knowledge : Comprehensive understanding of land surveying principles, legal descriptions, and Florida surveying laws and regulations.
- Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to clients and team members.
- Organizational Skills : Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Leadership : Demonstrated ability to lead teams, mentor junior staff, and foster a collaborative work environment
- Compensation: Salary range of $90,000 – $110,000 per year, depending on experience (DOE)
- After 60 days: Medical, Vision, Dental, and Company-paid basic life insurance. Accident, critical illness, hospital, term and whole life offered on a voluntary basis.
