Summary :

Fidelity Partners Services is seeking a qualified Medical Director to provide comprehensive oversight and support to both the Cochise County Health and Social Services Division and the Cochise County Detention Health Services Division. This is a contract-based position requiring a licensed physician with experience in public health and correctional healthcare environments.

The Medical Director will serve as a key clinical leader, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and coordinated medical services across both divisions. The role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including public health staff, detention health staff, detention facility personnel, the Sheriffs Office, contractors, vendors, and community partners.

Qualifications :

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
• Board certification in a relevant medical specialty.
• Valid medical license to practice in the state of Arizona.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders and manage multiple responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Correctional Healthcare Provider (CCHP) certification is preferred.
• Experience in a clinical and administrative role, preferably in a correctional facility.

Key Responsibilities :

The Medical Director will provide services through various modes of communication, including:

• Virtual consultations
• Telephone and fax correspondence
• Email and written documentation
• In-person meetings and facility visits

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Oversight of medical protocols and clinical operations
• Ensuring compliance with applicable healthcare regulations
• Advising on public health initiatives and correctional health practices
• Supporting continuity of care, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder
• Participating in quality assurance and improvement activities
• Providing clinical guidance to staff and stakeholders

The Medical Director will work closely with:

• Cochise County Public Health and Detention Health Staff
• Detention Facility and Sheriff's Office Personnel
• External contractors, vendors, and community health partners
