The Assistant Director at our Montessori preschool plays a crucial role in supporting the Director and ensuring smooth daily operations. This position requires strong leadership in managing a team of over 10 staff members, overseeing curriculum implementation, maintaining compliance, and fostering effective communication with parents. The Assistant Director must be prepared to work until 6 pm regularly, with occasional weekend hours for special events and training sessions, and should be familiar with Montessori-specific software to support administrative and educational activities.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support staff to maintain a positive and productive environment
- Assist with curriculum implementation and provide support to teachers
- Communicate effectively with parents to address concerns and share updates
- Monitor compliance with Montessori and preschool regulations
- Manage classrooms and resolve conflicts among staff or students
- Coordinate special events and trainings, including occasional weekend hours
- Provide administrative support including using Montessori-specific software
- Lead teacher training initiatives to enhance professional development
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in early childhood education administration
- Montessori certification or diploma
- Strong knowledge of Montessori methodology and child development
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
- Effective time management and conflict resolution abilities
- Organizational skills and problem-solving capability
