Senior Accountant

Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee the accounting operations for their commercial and related real estate entities. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Controller and upper management and will be responsible for monthly financial statements, cash management, property accounting, and supporting key financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, journal entries, and comparative statements.

• Generate cash flow statements and provide detailed cash flow analysis.

• Compile financial reports for partners, analyzing inconsistencies and transactions as needed.

• Develop annual budgets for commercial and related entities.

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, company credit cards, and third-party property accounting.

• Monitor account balances and manage transfers for all client bank accounts.

• Record expenses, accruals, prepaid items, and deposits; maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts monthly.

• Calculate fee splits for owners and partners, maintain payment tracking, and generate invoices and checks for property management fees.

• Process biweekly payroll, including benefits deposits to third-party administrators.

• Calculate available cash, distribute to property managers and owners, and coordinate approvals.

• Process electronic funds transfers (EFTs) and invoices.

• Coordinate and compile documents for year-end tax preparation with the CPA firm.

• Lead annual audits and ensure compliance with GAAP standards.

• Support investor reporting and communications in collaboration with owners, partners, and institutions.

• Provide project support to owners, property managers, and accounting staff as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

• 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.

• Experience in financial leadership, preferably within real estate development or property management.

• Proficiency with accounting and report-writing software.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
