As a Special Education Teacher in a self-contained behavior classroom for students with Autism and other special needs, you’ll expand your professional toolkit by collaborating with talented staff and implementing best practices from a variety of school settings. Key Qualifications:
- Current Standard AZ Secondary Teaching License
- Valid K-12 Special Education certificate
- IVP fingerprint clearance card
- Experience in structured, intensive support settings with autism spectrum and behavioral/emotional disabilities
- Awareness of student diversity: at-risk, limited English proficiency, exceptional students
- Familiarity with federal and state compliance for special education documentation
- Ability and willingness to participate in Essential Elements of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) training or professional development
Primary Responsibilities:
- Teach full-time in a self-contained, behavior-focused classroom
- Develop and implement individualized curriculum and support plans
- Foster positive, prosocial, and self-regulatory skill development
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Maintain required records and adhere to compliance standards
