Position Summary
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for leading KSC’s Field Sales Team (FST) including our Market Development Leaders and Market Development Associates. KSC utilizes a DSD route system comprised of Independent Distributors to deliver many grocery categories to larger retailers (Walmart, Fry's, Bashas', etc..) throughout Arizona. The RSM is also responsible for working with key suppliers on promotional, merchandising, and display solutions. The RSM will work closely with our SVP of Customer Development on program execution throughout all key accounts. Manage key customer retail operations interactions, resulting in achievement of volume and profit targets. Customize and implement KSC/Supplier strategies and Category Plans with the Customer. Responsible for developing selling strategies and tactics that meet objectives from Customer HQ through to retail execution. Responsible for penetrating the retail store operations teams of key customers by understanding the customer’s key objectives and implementing collaborative business plans that deliver long term mutual growth.
Essential Job Functions
· Build, develop, and oversee the KSC Field Sales Team.
· Ensure KSC IO network is fully covered through recruitment and development of high caliber IOs.
· Oversee KSC FST engagement with KSC IO network to build route and account sales.
· Execute trade promotions to achieve sales/profit objectives, including Supplier/Customer interaction.
· Maintain monthly forecasting of sales and spending.
· Engage internal KSC partners, such as Purchasing and Warehouse Operations, to ensure proper product supply
planning and order preparation
· Oversee permanent and temporary equipment ordering and inventory.
· Build selling materials to enable DSD sales team and IO network to successfully secure store-level placement of
programs and promotions.
· Serve as subject matter expert for KSC frontline sales team (FSL’s) on key programs and promotions.
· Engineer KSC’s route network to routes are optimally structured and route volumes leave room for future growth.
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
· Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.
· Minimum of three years functional experience required with one to three years CPG/DSD Sales and/or Category
Management experience required.
· Spanish proficiency beneficial.
