About the role
We're looking for a hands-on Fiber Laser Technician who can both run and program our Amada fiber laser systems. This is a role for someone who's comfortable owning a machine end to end—taking a part from a drawing or file all the way through nesting, cutting, and quality check—and keeping the machine running clean and on-schedule.

What you'll do
• Operate Amada fiber laser systems for daily production, including setup, material loading, focus/gas settings, and monitoring cuts for quality.
• Program and prepare jobs in AP100—importing DXF/DWG geometry, building and editing parts, and optimizing nests for material yield.
• Dial in cutting parameters (power, speed, assist gas, focus height) for different materials and thicknesses— stainless, aluminum, mild steel, etc.
• Inspect finished parts against tolerances using calipers, micrometers, and drawings; catch and correct dross, burn, or edge-quality issues.
• Perform routine maintenance: cleaning optics, checking the cutting head, managing consumables (nozzles, lenses, gas), and logging machine hours.
• Troubleshoot cut-quality and machine faults, escalating mechanical or laser-source issues as needed.
• Keep accurate production records and communicate throughput and material needs to the team.

What we're looking for
• Experience operating a fiber laser (Amada preferred) in a production environment.
• Proficiency programming and nesting in AP100, with the ability to read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T.
• Working knowledge of sheet metal, material behavior, and how parameters affect cut quality.
• Mechanical aptitude and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
• Attention to detail, safety-mindedness, and the ability to work independently on the floor.

Nice to have
• Experience with other Amada software (AP100US, VPSS, or Dr. ABE Blank).
• CAD experience in SolidWorks (our standard); Fusion 360 experience is a welcome equivalent.
• Experience with material handling, forklifts, or automation/load-unload systems.
