Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role supports electrical systems in a utility and industrial environment, with steady day-shift hours and competitive pay.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems in the Central Utility Plant and Water/Wastewater facilities.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues on industrial equipment.
• Install, maintain, and remove conductors, raceways, motors, transformers, switchboards, HVAC units, and lighting systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
• Follow switching procedures and coordinate outages involving medium-voltage switchgear and 15KV circuit breakers.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, VFDs, ATS, and instrumentation wiring.
• Operate forklifts, aerial lifts, and other mobile equipment.
• Maintain accurate service reports, deficiency logs, and work orders.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E, NEC, OSHA, and Lock Out–Tag Out procedures.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of electrician apprenticeship or journeyman certification or 5+ years of industrial electrical experience.
• Proficiency with standard hand/power tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and perform electrical load calculations.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards, NEC, OSHA, and electrical safety procedures.
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and operate aerial platforms.
• Experience with forklifts, platform lifts, and boom lifts.
• Valid Arizona driver’s license with clean record.

Preferred Qualifications

• Utility plant experience (power, water, wastewater).
• Journeyman Electrician or related certifications.
• PLC programming and HMI systems experience.
• Predictive maintenance skills (vibration, thermography, ultrasonic).
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E/70B and advanced Lock Out–Tag Out.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong time management and independent work skills.
