Med/Surg Telemetry RN Job Details

• Location: Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403 – Premier destination for Arizona nursing jobs with outdoor recreation and city access
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
• Unit: Med/Surg Telemetry (40 beds)
• Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 1/26/2026 – End: 4/27/2026)
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Patient Ratio: 1:6 (adult/geriatric patient population)
• Float Requirement: May float to Intermediate Care (IMC) and Emergency Department (ED) units

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience
• Telemetry nursing experience required
• Proven ability to manage a 6-patient ratio in a clinical setting
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Preceptor and charge nurse experience preferred
• Strong communication, compassion, and teamwork skills
• Must wear black scrubs (top and bottom); open shoes not permitted

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data, responding rapidly to changes in patient condition
• Care for patients with acute and chronic medical conditions, including post-surgical, joint replacement, acute coronary syndrome (ACS), congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic kidney disease (CKD), alcohol withdrawal, systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), and GI bleeding
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and float to IMC or ED units as needed
• Operate clinical equipment such as Baxter IV pumps, Posey bed/chair alarms, Omnicel drug dispensing cabinets, and Zoll defibrillators
• Document patient care accurately in the Medhost electronic health record (EHR) system
• Maintain a compassionate, positive, and patient-centered approach to nursing care
