Vaco is partnering with a publicly traded company to help identify a Controller for their office. Our client is looking for a high-performing, accountable leader with strong integrity to oversee our accounting function. The Controller will manage accounting operations, financial reporting, and systems of controls and budgets to mitigate risk while maintaining accurate records. This role also ensures the company’s financial results are precise and fully compliant with GAAP and reporting standards.
Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all core accounting functions, including month-end close, AP, payroll, taxes, internal reporting, and bank reconciliations
• Lead SEC reporting (10-Q, 10-K) and ensure full compliance with SEC, GAAP, FASB, and SOX requirements, including internal controls and policy enforcement
• Partner with external auditors and manage audits, while staying current on evolving accounting standards and regulations
• Manage equity accounting (cap tables, stock plans, warrants), government filings and tax requirements, and oversee inventory controls, valuation, and cross-functional coordination

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; active CPA required for consideration

• Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience within the manufacturing industry
• Prior experience with a publicly traded company required
• Proficiency with NetSuite required

Compensation:
$185,000-$200,000 base salary
? Location: Phoenix, AZ — local candidates only will be considered. This role is 100% remote with occassional travel to the West Coast monthly.
