Metrology Technician

Program Summary The KBR Metrology team supports manufacturing, engineering & test, repair & overhaul, and aftermarket service centers globally in support of Aerospace & Defense, Automotive, Medical, Safety, Semiconductor and other industries. Our support includes services such as complete management of embedded metrology systems, calibration and repair, test & inspection, metrology engineering, preventive maintenance, NADCAP special process support, and AMS2750 Heat Treat pyrometry services and more. Our teams are located across the globe working in KBR and customer embedded laboratories as well as performing onsite visits with our field service operations and mobile laboratory platforms. Our teams work to ensure our customer systems are maintained to high standards through calibration, preventative maintenance, automation and programming, calibration recall system management, and audit support. We ensure great customer experience by tracking and providing performance and delivery metrics through digital dashboards, as well as routine customer service surveys and direct customer meetings. Job Summary Metrology Technician is responsible for performing routine calibrations, tests and/or inspections in-lab or on-site using accredited standards and taking care of the day-to-day escalations and priority requests. Calibrations, tests and inspections may be performed with and/or without automation. Calibration of metrology lab standards as required. The position requires fluency in calibration, test, and/or inspection procedures and processes, and hands-on experience with setting up test equipment calibration systems. Metrology Technician may be required to provide assistance to entry level technicians as they learn new measurement procedures and processes. This role will report to the lead technician and lab manager. Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform calibration and certification of electronic and physical/dimensional measuring and test equipment according to technical specifications, ensuring traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
- Calibrate and repair equipment such as Multimeters, frequency counter, timers, oscilloscopes, dimensional hand tools, blueprint-controlled devices and fixtures, pressure devices, Thermo-hygrometers, scales, load cells, force devices, and weights.
- Calibrate standards used in calibrations and maintain equipment to established performance standards.
- Record maintenance activities in CMS, generate reports on results of tests, conditions of equipment and/or systems, repairs, and preventive maintenance performed, and prepare necessary documentation as required by customer and regulatory requirements.
- Utilize common laboratory measuring, calibrating, and test equipment.

- High school diploma with 3+ years of experience in the field, OR associate's degree in engineering technology or a relevant field with 3 years of experience.
- Working knowledge of one or more of the following voltage, current, resistance, capacitance, time and frequency, signal conditioning, blueprint and drawings, dimensional tooling and hand tools, pressure controllers, pressure dead weight testers, force gages and load cells, etc.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software, including Excel.
- Experience with IndySoft, Fluke Met/Team, Fluke Met/Track, and Met/Cal systems.
- Familiarity with laboratory measurement and calibration equipment.
- Experience in calibration of mass and weights, and/or the use of mass comparators.
