The Account Executive, Commercial Insurance at RT/Ryan Specialty is an on-site wholesale brokerage role supporting brokers in property & casualty commercial lines by preparing new business and renewal submissions, reviewing policies/invoices, and maintaining client data. The position analyzes account risks, ensures regulatory compliance, generates portfolio reports to inform broker decisions, and helps drive renewals and new business opportunities through proposals and client referrals. Requires 2-3 years commercial P&C experience, a bachelor’s degree (preferred), and preferably P&C licensure or industry certifications.
Position Summary
RT Specialty is a leading wholesale distributor of specialty insurance products and services. Our experienced brokers are specialized in property, casualty, professional lines, transportation and workers’ compensation, providing creative solutions to retail brokerage firms. As an independent wholesale broker, we are a critical intermediary in the distribution channel from insurance carriers and retail brokers. This Account Executive serves as a strategic partner to internal teams by staying informed on market trends and providing actionable insights into client needs and behaviors. Through close collaboration, the individual helps shape client strategies and supports decision-making with relevant market intelligence. The Account Executive is responsible for assisting the Broker team in executing trades, managing accounts, and navigating regulatory compliance. The role collaborates with internal teams, stays informed on market trends, and offers strategic insights about clients. They are also responsible for assisting in new business and renewal submissions, reviewing policy documents and invoices and other client service activities. This role is 100% on site, in our Phoenix, AZ office with 5 days required in office weekly (5410 East High Street, Suite 200 Phoenix, AZ 85054)What will your job entail?
Prepares accounts for new business and renewals as directed by the broker, initiating renewal reviews to optimize client coverage and recommending strategies for client retention.
Assists brokers in developing market submissions and quote cover letters, while reviewing incoming documents for accuracy and completeness.
Builds strong relationships with brokers and demonstrates a solid understanding of brokerage operations to proactively support evolving business needs.
Partners with brokers to drive renewal activity and generate new business opportunities through client referrals.
Collaborates on new business strategies, including the development of proposals and presentations for prospective clients.
Evaluates account-related risks and ensures compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.
Maintains accurate client data in internal systems, produces clear documentation, and adheres to defined guidelines and service standards.
Generates performance and portfolio trend reports using data and insights to support broker decision-making and enhance the book of business.
Coordinates with internal teams to fulfill contractual obligations, resolves invoicing issues with Premium Accounting, and manages notices of cancellation.
What will you bring?
Minimum of 2-3 years of Property & Casualty experience in the commercial insurance industry
Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields include Business Administration, Sales, or Risk Management. Other related disciplines or equivalent work experience will be considered.
Licenses and Certifications:
Preferred : Active Property & Casualty license, Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR), Commercial Insurance License (CIL).

The target salary range for this position is $64,000.00 - $80,000.00 annually.The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
