Aircraft Grooming Agent

Ensure that aircraft are maintained in optimal condition in terms of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation between flights, complying with aviation safety standards, turnaround times, and health protocols established by the airline and aviation authorities. The Aircraft Cleaner is responsible for cleaning and preparing the interior and exterior of the aircraft so that passengers and crew receive a safe, hygienic, and comfortable environment before each flight.

Core Responsibilities & Duties

• Cabin interior cleaning: Complete cleaning of seats, seatbelts, tray tables, overhead bins, and interior cabin panels. Removal of trash, food scraps, newspapers, and any materials left by passengers. Disinfection of high-touch surfaces such as armrests, seatbelts, and tray tables.
• Aircraft lavatory cleaning: Complete cleaning and disinfection of the aircraft lavatories. Replenishment of toilet paper, towels, soap, and other supplies. Verification of the proper condition of the lavatory before flight departure.
  
• Cabin interior cleaning: Complete cleaning of seats, seatbelts, tray tables, overhead bins, and interior cabin panels. Removal of trash, food scraps, newspapers, and any materials left by

passengers. Disinfection of high-touch surfaces such as armrests, seatbelts, and tray tables.

Aircraft lavatory cleaning: Complete cleaning and disinfection of the aircraft lavatories. Replenishment of toilet paper, towels, soap, and other supplies. Verification of the proper condition of the lavatory before flight departure.

Galley (Aircraft Kitchen) cleaning: Cleaning of surfaces, cabinets, and food preparation areas. Removal of waste and cleaning of garbage containers. Preparation of the area for the next catering service.

Cabin preparation for the next flight: Adjust seatbelts to the standard position. Properly place safety magazines and informational materials in the seat pockets. Align tray tables, window shades, and overhead compartments.

Cabin preparation for the next flight: Waste Management: Properly sort and remove all waste generated during the flight. Deposit waste in designated containers according to airport protocols. Comply with international waste management regulations, especially on international flights.

Industrial Safety

Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Gloves, a reflective vest, a face mask, and any other equipment required for handling waste or cleaning chemicals are mandatory.

Safe Handling of Chemicals: Use only products authorized for aircraft cleaning. Follow the dilution and safe handling procedures for chemicals.

Prevention of Damage to the Aircraft: Avoid using tools or products that could damage interior surfaces. Handle panels, seats, and cabin compartments with care.

Reporting of Anomalies: Notify the supervisor of any visible damage to seats, panels, lavatories, or aircraft equipment. Report significant spills or unsafe conditions inside the aircraft.

Job Specifications

Education & Language Skills

High School Diploma

English / Spanish.

Experience

Experience in professional cleaning in hotels, hospitals, airports, or industrial facilities. Previous experience in aircraft cleaning (desirable). Experience working under pressure and in tight deadlines.

Technical Skills:

Basic knowledge of cleaning and disinfection procedures.

Proper use of cleaning tools and products.

Basic knowledge of airport security protocols.

Proper handling of waste and hazardous materials.

Soft skills:

Teamwork: Coordinate with other cleaners to complete aircraft cleaning within the established timeframe.

Attention to Detail: Ability to identify dirty or poorly maintained areas that may negatively impact the passenger experience.

Responsibility: Strictly adhere to cleaning and safety standards.

Time Management: Ability to work quickly and efficiently during aircraft turnaround.

Discipline: Follow safety protocols and operating procedures without exception.

Other Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Ability to perform moderate physical work.

Ability to work rotating shifts.

Availability to work weekends and holidays.

Valid Driver's License.

• Working Conditions

The Aircraft Cleaner performs most of their work inside the aircraft, in confined spaces such as aisles, galleys, and lavatories. The job may require crouching, bending, or kneeling to clean hard-to-reach areas. There is occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures depending on the aircraft and weather. The work is performed under time pressure, as the cleaning must be completed before the next flight departs.

• Schedule and Availability

• Overnight Operation: This position requires rotating shifts (afternoon, and overnight).
• Aircraft Turnaround: Cleaning must be performed within limited timeframes between flights.
• Holiday Work: Airport operations continue uninterrupted, therefore full availability is required.
