FULL TIME SOCIAL WORKER CASE AIDE

Building Arizona Families is a nonprofit private adoption agency located in Phoenix. We assist expectant mothers making an adoption plan for their child and adoptive parents with the dream to grow their family through adoption.

Specified responsibilities for the Adoption Social Worker Case Aide include:

• Intake Specialist:
• Perform birth mother intakes. Including but not limited to on-call rotation of an intake schedule. Ensuring all intake paperwork is accurately completely and distributed. Overseeing that the birth mother gets an ultrasound as soon as possible.
  • Handle all intake review questions regarding intakes.
• Educating and counseling birth parents during intake.
• Assist in the assurance that the new intake is utilizing all state services as needed including but not limited to:
  • Birth mother stabilization / housing.
  • AHCCCS, WIC, Food Stamps, etc.
• Intake Contact Follow-up:
  • Review and follow up on all intake lead’s generated from websites, previous client referrals, Google Ads and/or walk ins.
  • Maintain Intake Spreadsheet.
• Birth Mother Case Manager Assistant
  • Assisting with birth mother case managers with their clients.
    • Schedule and coordinating transportation to doctor’s appointments, counseling appointments, paperwork appointments; including calling AHCCCS or Uber for transport.
  • Assisting birth mother case managers with witnessing legal documents.
  • Visiting / meeting birth mother at the hospital – as needed .
  • Cover birth mother case manager responsibilities on an as needed basis (i.e., vacation coverage).
  • Manage Food Pantry
    • Ensuring we have food bags / boxes ready for distribution.
    • This includes Frys’ click list order.
    • Maintain “first in – first out” per St. Mary’s requirements.
  • Manage Hotel Bags & After Care Bags
    • This includes shopping and assembling.
  • Client Cell Phones
    • Maintaining stock & paying weekly bills.
• Attend weekly Domestic Team Meetings.
• Community outreach:
• Organizing or promoting events to increase BAF Agency awareness.
• Assist with marketing material distribution and agency visibility.
• Collaborating with and educating hospitals, doctor’s offices, prisons, etc., in the effort to promote adoption.

Requirements:

A social worker shall have the following qualifications:

1. A bachelor’s degree in social work or a related human
services field from an accredited college or university and
two years of professional experience in a human services
field;

2. A master’s degree in social work or in a related human
services field from an accredited college or university;

3. An associate’s or a two-year degree from an accredited
educational institution in a human services or child welfare
field and five years’ experience engaged in the activities.

4.Ten years experience in a human services or a child welfare
field engaged in the activities listed in subsection

Candidate must reliable transportation, and a clear driving record.

Adoption social work experience preferred, but not required.
