Staff Accountant III

: BioCare Accounting/Finance Tempe, Arizona

Job summary:

Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for coordinating approval of accounts payable invoices and reviewing for appropriate taxability and general ledger coding. This position also performs a variety of other general accounting functions.

Location: Tempe, AZ

Primary responsibilities:

• Month-end closing, review of balance sheet reconciliations, ad-hoc reporting
• Leads annual audit and governmental reporting
• Provide direction and establish priorities for other staff as appointed
• May lead lower-level staff as directed
• Reviews coding and ensures proper approval on accounts payable invoices
• Provides analytics and analysis on profit & loss accounts
• Coordinates with other departments for process improvements and problem resolution
• Coordinates physical inventory counts
• Reviews detailed transactions and tracks, calculates, and records various tax accruals including property, sales/use, and excise taxes
• Prepares and files state annual reports, property taxes, and other licensing requirements
• Reconciles subsidiary leger to general ledger and prepares adjustments
• Prepares journal entries for monthly closings
• Participates in system updates
• Train associates as directed
• Deliver quality customer service to all team members, customers, and stakeholders
• Perform all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations
• Bring any compliance issues to the attention of management

Required certifications, licenses, education, and experience:

• Bachelor's degree
• Seven+ years accounting experience required

Preferred education, competencies, knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Bachelor's degree
• SAP Experience
