Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Legal Secretary to join our dynamic team. This role supports personal injury, medical malpractice and commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will have at least seven to ten years of experience as a Litigation Secretary, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure, but very friendly environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented individual who excels in a team setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Litigation Support : Assist with all aspects of Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, and Commercial Litigation, including drafting and filing legal documents, managing discovery, and coordinating with clients, witnesses, and experts.
- Case Management : Maintain and organize case files, calendars, and deadlines. Track case progress and ensure all necessary documentation is completed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Executive Support : Provide comprehensive executive support, including managing the attorney's schedule, coordinating meetings, and handling confidential information with discretion.
- Document Preparation : Draft, edit, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and presentations. Ensure all documents adhere to legal standards and are error-free.
- Client Interaction : Serve as a liaison between the attorney and clients. Handle client inquiries, schedule appointments, and provide updates on case status.
- Administrative Duties : Perform general office duties, including answering phones, managing mail, and reviewing correspondence.
Qualifications
- Experience : A minimum of 7 to 10 years as a Litigation Assistant, with substantial experience in litigation support, preferably in Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice and Commercial Litigation.
- Technical Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, legal research tools, and case management and document management software. Familiarity with court filing systems and legal databases. Must have excellent typing and proofreading skills.
- Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with clients, court personnel, and colleagues with the highest degree of professionalism.
- Organizational Skills : Critical thinking and strong organizational abilities with meticulous attention to detail. Proven capability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Team Player : Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Willingness to assist colleagues and contribute to team success.
- Pressure Management : Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
