Infrastructure Architect

Kforce has a client that is seeking an Infrastructure Architect. This is a full time role with Kforce's client. The role requires hybrid work and can be based in Chicago, New York, Indianapolis, or Phoenix. Summary: The Infrastructure Architect is a senior technical leader within the IT Operations organization, responsible for shaping, designing, and guiding both on-premises and cloud infrastructure ecosystems. This role provides architectural direction, evaluates emerging technologies, and ensures that infrastructure solutions align with organizational standards and long-term strategic goals. The Infrastructure Architect partners with cross-functional teams to lead complex technical initiatives, translate business requirements into actionable designs, and ensure that systems are built for resilience, scalability, and operational excellence. Responsibilities:

• Serve as a subject matter expert capable of translating complex technical requirements into structured, actionable work packages
• Analyze industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving landscapes to provide strategic technical direction to IT and business stakeholders
• Produce high-quality technical documentation, including design standards, runbooks, manuals, and operational guidelines
• Provide leadership, coaching, and support to technical teams during high-pressure or time-sensitive situations
• Facilitate collaboration across cross-functional groups to solve complex business challenges with technology-driven solutions
• Design, implement, operate, and decommission infrastructure systems and platforms throughout their lifecycle
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, IT Security, Business Administration, or a related field
• PMP or Scrum Master certification
• Advanced certifications such as Azure, AWS, VxRail, VMware Datacenter Virtualization, Security or Cloud Management certifications, Cisco CCNP/CCIE, HP Aruba, Palo Alto, or Dell EMC Storage
• 10+ years of hands-on experience supporting, implementing, and building enterprise-scale infrastructure environments
• 8+ years of deep technical expertise in one or more specialized domains such as virtualization, storage systems, cloud technologies, WAN/LAN networking, or firewall administration
• 8+ years of advanced troubleshooting experience at Tier 3 or Tier 4, serving as the final escalation point
• 5+ years of experience operating large-scale datacenters with 1,500+ devices across multiple sites
• 5+ years of experience managing relationships with business units, stakeholders, vendors, and internal IT teams
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical requirements into implementable architectural designs aligned with business needs
• A practical, balanced approach to technology strategy that considers security, operational efficiency, and business priorities
