Emergency Medical Care Technician (EMT) - On-Call - Flagstaff
- Demonstrates ability to identify and manage life threatening problems and assists partner(s) in managing them.
- Obtain manual vital signs.
- Interact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances.
- Manage unpredictable or emergency situations.
- Professionally interact with all levels of pre-hospital care providers from various agencies within response region.
- Interacts directly with patients, families, the public, local community groups, law enforcement personnel, fire department personnel, physicians and nurses, as needed.
- Ability to safely work around violent and other high risk patient populations.
- Assesses each situation; remains calm in high stress situations and can work around loud noises and flashing lights.
- Ability to document patient care.
- Knowledge and skills to care for the physical and developmental needs of patients across the life span.
- Assists partner in ensuring that CARE vehicle and workstations are stocked, cleaned and ready for daily use
- Demonstrates expert knowledge in ALS and BLS equipment (set up, use, & management)
- Engages in immediate treatment/safety planning in a variety of settings including but not limited to public areas, individual residences, and businesses.
- Supports psychiatric hospital placements by providing coordination, planning and facilitation with hospital staff in support of partner.
- Maintains client records and completes required documentation in the electronic health record in an accurate and timely manner
- Displays flexibility and ability to adapt to change.
