Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Auto Liability Claims Manager to lead complex claims operations while serving as a key partner in business development. This individual will oversee the strategy, quality, and efficiency of auto liability claim handling while leveraging their industry expertise, reputation, and communication skills to support the acquisition of new accounts and strengthen existing client relationships.
This role blends claims leadership, technical expertise, and client-facing sales acumen. The right candidate will be a polished professional capable of representing our organization with confidence, building trust through subject-matter credibility, and contributing to growth initiatives alongside our executive team.
Key Responsibilities
Claims Leadership & Oversight
- Lead and manage the Auto Liability Claims department, ensuring high-quality claims handling, litigation management, and timely resolution.
- Develop and implement best practices, compliance standards, and operational workflows that improve efficiency and outcomes.
- Provide technical guidance on complex and high-exposure claims, offering strategic direction and mentoring to claims staff.
- Review and analyze claim trends, loss data, and operational performance to make data-driven recommendations to leadership.
- Coordinate with legal teams, adjusters, third-party administrators, and carriers to ensure consistent, accurate claims management.
Client Engagement & Sales Support
- Partner with the executive team to support sales presentations, and new business pitches.
- Serve as a credible industry expert, helping prospective clients understand our claims philosophy, capabilities, and value proposition.
- Strengthen and maintain relationships with brokers, agents, carriers, and key accounts.
- Participate in renewal meetings, stewardship reports, and client performance reviews to enhance retention and satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities for service enhancements and strategic solutions tailored to client needs.
Operational & Strategic Contributions
- Collaborate with leadership on long-term claims strategy, cost containment initiatives, and risk mitigation programs.
- Help shape product offerings, claims service models, and value-add programs to differentiate the organization in the marketplace.
- Stay current with industry trends, legislation, and regulatory changes impacting auto liability claims.
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and professional associations.
Requirements
- 10+ years of Commercial Trucking Auto Liability Claims experience, with at least 5 years in a management or senior leadership role.
- Strong technical expertise in handling complex auto liability, commercial auto, and litigated claims.
- Proven ability to lead teams and build high-performance claims operations.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and confidently.
- Demonstrated success supporting business development, sales, or client-facing initiatives.
- High degree of professionalism, credibility, and executive presence.
- Experience working with self-insured programs, TPAs, commercial fleets, or large accounts preferred.
- Bachelors degree required; professional designations (AIC, CPCU, ARM, SCLA) strongly preferred.
