IT Business Services Analyst

Our Technology team has 6 different departments: Information Security, Service Delivery, Business Enabling Systems, eCommerce & Marketing Technology, Data and Stores, Services & Supply Chain.

PetSmart is seeking an experienced Technology Financial Analyst to deliver high-quality analytical support and foster strong cross-functional partnerships. This role is responsible for collaborating with teams across the organization to support solutions that align with PetSmart’s strategic goals.
PEOPLE & TEAM INFLUENCE
- Advise team leaders on discrepancies, contract updates, and upcoming renewals to ensure alignment and accuracy
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across Technology, Finance, and Accounting teams
- Foster vendor partnerships to support effective budget planning and expense management
- Remain flexible and responsive to shifting priorities, evolving demands, and tight deadlines
Responsibilities:
- P&L Expense Management: Manages department billing of Telecom and other IT-related expenses. Benchmarks expense practices and identifies opportunities to reduce costs. Evaluates and validates expense data as needed. Audits invoice and validates charge detail.
- This role facilitates the creation and management of the Technology Store and DC Telecom monthly budget, variance analysis, cost allocation and analytical reports. Works with team management to set annual budgets. Ensures cost reclassifications and accruals are properly posted. Works with project managers to update and validate project financial data as needed.
- Vendor Management: Facilitates vendor procurement process to deliver best value. Creates purchase orders and confirms that orders received meet specifications or agreements. Ensures invoices are coded accurately before approval. Maintains effective vendor relationships through participation in regular vendor meetings and follow-up on vendor issues and requests.
- Contract Management: Works with Legal partners as needed on contract execution and interpretation. Ensures proper submission of Contract Review Forms and all information is provided to Legal to facilitate contract approval. Prepares contracts for PetSmart signatures and route to the appropriate signatory based on signing authority.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); advanced Excel skills
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), amortization, and accruals and a deep understanding of CAPEX, OPEX, and budgeting processes.
