Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

ProCare Therapy is partnering with a local school district in Arizona to hire a qualified Teacher for the Visually Impaired. This role offers the opportunity to support students in a dynamic and inclusive educational setting.
Hired individuals will work as contract employees, with all payroll, benefits, and human resources matters managed by ProCare Therapys dedicated support team.

Candidate Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Special Education, with an emphasis on visual impairment preferred.
Valid teaching certification in visual impairment, or eligibility for one.
Strong understanding of instructional strategies and tools for students with visual impairments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and staff.

Job Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each students unique needs and goals, maintaining accurate and timely documentation, progress reports, and compliance records.
Create a supportive and adaptive classroom environment that fosters learning for visually impaired students, utilizing appropriate instructional materials, assistive technology, and compensatory skills such as Braille, tactile graphics, and orientation and mobility training.
Conduct functional vision assessments (FVA) and learning media assessments (LMA) to inform instruction and support services.
Collaborate with educational professionals and service providers to ensure a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to each students education.
Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting teaching methods and strategies as necessary to optimize learning outcomes.
Interview Specifics:
Applicants will go through an informal prescreening process with recruiters at ProCare Therapy to ensure qualifications are met.
Applicants will be interviewed by the school or district department lead. The interview is typically a 30 minute Zoom call.
The school/district may request a second interview where the applicant comes to campus.
In conjunction with the school/district, ProCare Therapy will offer qualified candidates the position and begin the onboarding process.
