Job Title: Compounding Pharmacy Technician
Location: Downtown PHX
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role offers the opportunity to work in both outpatient and inpatient settings, supporting critical pharmacy operations under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately in compliance with state and federal regulations, including USP <795> , <797> , and <800> standards .
- Manage automated dispensing systems (Omnicell/Pyxis), ensuring proper stocking and functionality.
- Deliver medications promptly to clinical areas to support efficient patient care.
- Maintain inventory levels of medications and supplies, ensuring availability and accuracy.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and maintain required documentation.
- Provide clerical and administrative support to ensure smooth pharmacy operations.
- Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to promote safe and coordinated care.
- Maintain aseptic technique and handle controlled substances responsibly.
- Stay current with departmental updates and complete required educational modules.
- Opportunity for cross-training in specialty areas such as outpatient neurology infusion and inpatient pharmacy.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Active CPhT certification
- Minimum 1 year of infusion compounding experience
- Must have experience with Omnicell or Pyxis automated shelving systems
- Proficiency in compounding, data entry, medication processing, and inventory management
- IV/Chemotherapy compounding experience preferred
Work Environment:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Hazardous chemotherapy compounding is performed at the main hospital and couriered to the cancer center daily
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
