In this Design Assistant role, you will provide essential technical and administrative support to our talented design team, assisting with CAD and 3D rendering drawings, and bringing innovative design concepts to life. You will also assist with the sourcing of tile, wall coverings, building products, and/or lighting for private interior design clients ensuring every project reflects our high standards and client preferences. Additionally, you will maintain an organized Resource Library and handle product samples, making sure we always have the best materials at our fingertips. Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

· Contribute and support to the organization of projects for Katherine Mueller Design .

· Prepare preliminary CAD designs for layouts and elevations.

· Responsible for organizing and managing the Resource Library to ensure samples are available and current.

· Pick up or drop off product samples at vendor locations and other errands as needed.

· May contribute to design concepts and assist in the sourcing of tile, wall coverings, building products, and/or lighting for private interior design clients of Katherine Mueller Design . Will be mindful of standard design principles, building codes, budgets, timelines, preferences, and ADA compliance.

· Keep abreast and current with design trends and explore the use of new materials, technologies, and products to incorporate into designs.

· Prepare or contribute to “spec books” for client presentations.

· Initiate and/or answer calls and/or emails to effectively communicate with vendors, clients, or others as needed.

· May assist with design layout and installation at a client's home.

· Prepare or complete documents using CAD, 3D rendering, SketchUp, Plug-in Enscape, etc.

· At all times provide the highest level of customer service to design clients, designers, and other business associates. Follow established procedures in relation to customer service and sales technique. This includes in-person, on the telephone, email, social media, or any other means of contact.

· Other duties as assigned.

Experience/Educational Requirements:

· Associate's degree or equivalent in Interior Design or related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.

· Minimum of 1 year of professional interior design experience, preferable in a luxury brand market.

· Experience with or the ability to learn sourcing of products related to tile, wall coverings, building products, and/or lighting.

· Up to date understanding of design industry trends, best practices, and market trends.

· Knowledge of brand and design aesthetics.

· Proficient with all Microsoft products including Excel and PowerPoint (using Mac), email and internet required. Photoshop experience a plus.

· Working knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software required; 3D rendering, SketchUp, and Plug-in Enscape required.

· Good understanding of architectural details.

· Ability to perform math functions and analysis to ensure all purchase transactions and financial reports are accurate.

Physical/Mental Demands:

· Ability to freely move throughout the day, sometimes in small areas, to include walking, bending, stretching, reaching, lifting, pushing, etc.

· May stand or sit for long periods of time

· Ability to lift a minimum of 45 lbs. occasionally

· Coordination to manipulate fingers and hands to work with objects that may be fragile, small, large, odd-shaped, etc. and to work on a keyboard and other equipment

· Talk, hear and see at both a close and long range

· Verbally communicate with others

· Work with fluctuating workloads and with interruptions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
