Block Mason

Join our dynamic construction team as a Block Mason, where you will play a vital role in building durable, high-quality structures through expert masonry techniques. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential renovations to large-scale commercial developments. As a Block Mason, you will utilize your skills in concrete forming, rebar installation, and finishing to bring architectural visions to life. - Construct and install concrete blocks, bricks, and other masonry units according to project specifications and blueprints.
- Read and interpret schematics, drawings, and technical plans to ensure accurate execution of masonry work.
- Prepare surfaces by applying plastering, caulking, or stucco as needed for renovation or restoration projects.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for cutting, shaping, and laying masonry materials.
- Install reinforcement such as rebar within concrete forms to strengthen structures and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Perform concrete finishing tasks, including smoothing surfaces and applying sealants or coatings for durability.
- Collaborate with carpenters, roofers, heavy equipment operators, and other trades to coordinate project timelines and ensure quality workmanship.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction and masonry work with a strong focus on block laying and concrete forming.
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes and ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately.
- Skilled in rebar installation, tile laying, stucco application, and heavy equipment operation related to masonry projects.
- Familiarity with various hand tools, power tools, scaffolding setup, and safety procedures on construction sites.
- Ability to perform demolition or restoration work as needed for renovation projects.
- Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices in masonry construction.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail for precise finishing work such as caulking and trim carpentry.
