Duties

• Construct and install concrete blocks, bricks, and other masonry units according to project specifications and blueprints.
• Read and interpret schematics, drawings, and technical plans to ensure accurate execution of masonry work.
• Prepare surfaces by applying plastering, caulking, or stucco as needed for renovation or restoration projects.
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for cutting, shaping, and laying masonry materials.
• Install reinforcement such as rebar within concrete forms to strengthen structures and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Perform concrete finishing tasks, including smoothing surfaces and applying sealants or coatings for durability.
• Collaborate with carpenters, roofers, heavy equipment operators, and other trades to coordinate project timelines and ensure quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction and masonry work with a strong focus on block laying and concrete forming.
• Knowledge of construction estimating processes and ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately.
• Skilled in rebar installation, tile laying, stucco application, and heavy equipment operation related to masonry projects.
• Familiarity with various hand tools, power tools, scaffolding setup, and safety procedures on construction sites.
• Ability to perform demolition or restoration work as needed for renovation projects.
• Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices in masonry construction.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail for precise finishing work such as caulking and trim carpentry.
