Security Officer
HAVASU LANDING CASINO DEPARTMENT: SECURITY
REPORTS TO: SECURITY DIRECTOR
PAY RATE: $18.00/HR QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be age 21 or older and qualify for a gaming license
- Cannot be convicted of a felony
- High School diploma or GED, and/or some college preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write incident reports and to effectively present information in a one-on-one or small group situation to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Security, military, or police experience preferred
- BSIS Guard Card, CPR First Aid Certificate, and ABC Alcohol Training preferred
- Must be physically fit, requires standing, walking, bending
- May be required to lift a minimum of 30 pounds
- Must have good vision (corrected 20.20)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Guard Casino property and guests against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry
- Patrol buildings and grounds of the Casino and related areas, this includes examining doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure
- Maintain a working knowledge of applicable laws pertaining to the gaming industry.
- Warns violators of hours, gaming rule infractions and drinking violations
- Apprehend persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
- Inspects equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has occurred
- Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, health hazards and security hazards to the Security Manager/Supervisor.
- Notify the Security Control room in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
- Observe departing personnel to guard against theft of company property
- Permit authorized persons to enter the property
- Record data such as property damage, unusual occurrences and malfunctioning of equipment or machinery
- Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- All other duties as assigned

Each employee is expected to make every effort to be well-informed about the casino, pleasant, courteous, and cooperative, and to act in a manner to command respect of co-workers and all other personnel.
