Lumina Management Services LLC

Job Description

Job Description

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, patient-centered optometry practice. You'll be part of a team that values high-quality care, innovation, and patient satisfaction. If you're transitioning from a customer service background, this position will allow you to develop new skills in a professional healthcare environment. We offer competitive pay, medical benefits, and a bonus plan, all while providing a pathway for career advancement within our growing organization.

This person is someone we can count on to...

  • Own: The entire patient preparation process, from greeting and checking in patients to performing pre-testing and ensuring that exam rooms and equipment are properly sanitized and prepared. You will own the efficiency of patient flow, ensuring that all data is entered accurately into the system and that every patient has a positive experience.
  • Teach: You’ll help refine best practices and offer insights that streamline patient interactions and ensure an efficient and smooth flow throughout the office. You’ll support your team by contributing to ongoing improvements with pre-testing, insurance verification, and room preparation.
  • Learn: The nuances of diagnostic testing, imaging, and working with patients in a medical setting. You'll become proficient in troubleshooting equipment issues and will consistently seek to improve patient flow and the accuracy of insurance documentation.
  • Improve: Patient wait times and satisfaction scores by refining pre-exam processes and contributing to operational improvements within the practice. You will work closely with the Optometrist and the front office to create a seamless patient experience.

Within...

1 month, this person will have learned the basics of patient interaction, including greeting patients, verifying insurance, and preparing them for testing. You will begin assisting with pre-exam processes such as obtaining patient histories and performing initial tests, all while maintaining a clean and organized exam room. Success will be measured by your ability to complete these tasks independently while ensuring accurate documentation.

2 months, this person will take full ownership of managing patient flow, preparing patients for exams, and administering necessary tests. You'll actively troubleshoot minor equipment issues and communicate with the front office to ensure that schedules remain on track. At this stage, you will be responsible for keeping exam rooms ready for each patient and maintaining a consistent level of patient satisfaction.

3 months, this person will be fully managing pre-testing, ensuring insurance documentation is accurate, and streamlining patient scheduling to minimize delays. You will also contribute to process improvements by identifying and implementing strategies that reduce patient wait times and increase operational efficiency. Your performance will be evaluated based on the practice’s ability to meet patient flow targets and maintain high levels of patient satisfaction.

Potential Obstacles

  • Balancing Efficiency and Patient Care: As you increase patient flow efficiency, you'll face the challenge of maintaining a positive patient experience while ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Insurance Verification Issues: Delays in verifying insurance coverage can impact patient flow. You’ll need to be proactive in resolving discrepancies or delays to avoid disruptions.
  • Technology Adaptation: Keeping up with advancements in diagnostic and imaging equipment can be challenging. Continuous learning will be essential to ensure you're providing the highest level of care.

Growth Opportunities: Success in this role opens up numerous growth opportunities within our organization. By achieving your goals, you'll demonstrate your capability to take on more significant responsibilities, potentially advancing to a managerial position within the network. You'll also have the chance to participate in professional development programs, further enhancing your skills and career prospects.
