SUMMARY:
The Family Therapist/Shadow shall serve as a case manager and be responsible for
providing effective individual and family therapy and counseling to clients and their caregivers/parents
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
The Family Therapist/Shadow shall be responsible for conducting an intake session
with the identified client and primary caregivers or guardians/parents upon admission.
The Family Therapist/Shadow will provide the following services:
o Weekly therapy sessions with parents/caregivers,
o One individual therapy session per week with clients,
o Facilitate weekly group therapy in the field,
o Provide weekly reports to clergy, education consultants, therapists or other referring professionals upon request and approval from the client and caregivers.
The Family Therapist/Shadow shall prepare and complete all necessary treatment plans and documentation in a timely manner.
The Family Therapist/Shadow shall inform and mentor the paraprofessionals and behavioral health technicians in effective therapeutic interventions for clients.
PERFORMS OTHER RELATED DUTIES AS ASSIGNED:
The following is a list of essential duties but is not all inclusive. Other functions may be added
dependent upon certain situations.
The Family Shadow will assist by clinically assessing the needs and expectations of the participant and their caregivers/parents.
Provide a general review of the ANASAZI program and orientation to the schedule of the program,
Informing parents of their responsibilities and the importance of their participation in the program, emphasizing the importance of studying the materials and implementing the principles they contain.
The Family Therapist/Shadow shall prepare and complete all necessary treatment plans and documentation in a timely manner, including:
o Psychosocial and Suicide Risk Assessment within 48 business hours of admission
o A treatment plan within 48 business hours of admission,
o A mid-program (4 week) treatment plan review and update along with a Suicide Risk Assessment,
o Complete weekly progress notes for all sessions with clients and caregivers within 5 days,
o A discharge summary and aftercare plan given to participants and caregiver/parents at the end of the field program.
o And completing a suicide risk assessment within 48 business hours of discharge.
The Family Therapist/Shadow shall
o Provide clinical support to TrailWalkers in the field,
o Participation in PIQA meetings, direct care team meetings and clinical staffing meetings
o Participation in weekly on call schedule.

CORPORATE COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understands and adheres to ANASAZI Foundations compliance standards as they appear in the ANASAZI Foundation Policy Manuals and Code of Conduct.
Also understands and adhere to ANASAZI Foundations compliance standards as they appear in the Shadow Guide, and the Trail Walker Guide.
Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as ANASAZI Foundation policies and procedures are changed or modified.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling, or psychology
Current state license to provide mental health services or other equivalent state authorization such as in
the case of internship or practicum experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Family Therapist/Shadow shall be aware and able to perform the following physical competencies.
Stand or Sit Stationary position Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Use hands/fingers to Operate, Activate, Use, Prepare, Inspect, Place, constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a scanner, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
Climb (stairs/ladders/outdoor hiking) or balance as needed.
Occasionally Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Be aware of extended workdays as needed.
Hiking, Camping, and Four-wheel drive competencies as needed.

BENEFITS:
This is a full-time permanent position. Eligibility for benefits begins after a 60 day probationary period. Benefits include health, dental, and life insurance. See Anasazi policy STF 201 for details.
Full-time employees are also eligible for vacation and sick leave after a 60 day probationary period. See Anasazi policy STF 202 for details.
The family therapist, or Shadow, serves as the primary case management and therapy provider for clients and families while at Anasazi Foundation. The Shadow also serves as a liaison with other professionals working with the families we serve. Due to the wilderness setting of the program, therapists must be able to dedicate each Tuesday to time spent in the field (from approximately 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.). Therapists work 8am 5pm all other weekdays. Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must possess a masters degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), Counseling or Psychology. Therapists are required to abide by the organizations standards of living. Candidates must be in good-to-moderate physical condition, as 1-2 miles of hiking weekly is required. Therapists must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance and drug test and provide documentation of a negative TB test, a Tetanus shot within last ten years, a sports physical done within the last year, and CPR/First Aid training.

Clinical skills, as evident by concise and timely documentation, as well as strong interpersonal and therapeutic skills in working with adolescents, young adults, and families.
