Machine Operator - Ammunition
Job Title: Machine Operator – Ammunition Components
JOB SUMMARY
The Ammunition Machine Operator position will be responsible for maintaining the machine output levels while performing quality checks. The position responsibilities consist of machine operations, parts preparation, loading of components, parts inspections, maintenance, and quality inspections. Ammunition Loading Experience Highly Preferred.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Adhere to all safety regulations and HESS policies.
· Comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
· Demonstrate strong proficiency in basic computer programs and data entry.
· Apply solid mathematical skills in daily operations.
· Operate machinery and maintain optimal output levels.
· Maintain detailed daily logs and performance charts.
· Correctly identify incoming materials and outgoing products.
· Detect and troubleshooting defects, making machine adjustments as needed.
· Accurately use scales, calipers, and other precision tools.
· Maintain a clean and organized department using 5S principles.
· Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (daily, weekly, monthly) and minor repairs as needed.
· Coordinate with supply chain for part requisitions.
· Willingness to work overtime when required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
· High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required .
· Proven experience operating industrial machinery in a manufacturing setting; familiarity with ammunition loading, by hand or machine, is required.
· Hands-on experience with ammunition production equipment is highly preferred.
· Working knowledge of industrial maintenance practices and safety protocols.
· Strong ability to accurately read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance checklists, and procedural manuals.
· Practical experience in weapon and ammunition safe handling is preferred.
· Collaborative mindset with a willingness to train and cross-train across departments and machines.
· Ability to work independently or as part of a team, depending on task requirements.

1. Must be able to stand, kneel, stoop, and bend for sustained periods (up to 3 hours at a time during 10-hour shifts).
2. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from floor level to chest height.
3. Must be able to reach over and around equipment for short durations.
4. Must be able to raise hands above shoulder level repeatedly throughout the shift.
5. Must lift, push, dump, and spread materials at waist to chest height regularly during working hours.

The work is primarily performed in a typical manufacturing environment. Wear safety attire or protective gear, when posted. may be exposed to distracting noise levels, may work within a few feet of other workers. For the most part ambient room temperatures and lighting as found in a typical office environment. Will be exposed to heat, cold and smells. Expect to work in confined spaces.
