We are seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) team. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and experienced nursing professional to oversee patient care, staff management, and compliance in a dynamic surgical environment.

Job Location: Mesa, AZ

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the safety and care of all surgical patients throughout their perioperative journey.
• Manage and lead incident and accident investigations within the facility, ensuring timely and thorough reporting.
• Conduct quality assurance audits and maintain survey preparedness, leading annual survey preparations.
• Assist with health record implementation projects and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain adequate inventory of medical equipment and supplies.
• Develop, implement, and oversee nursing services in alignment with current healthcare regulations and best practices.
• Regularly evaluate facility processes to uphold and enhance quality standards.
• Serve as an advisor to the Administrator , providing insight on clinical operations, budgets, and nursing services.
• Implement and monitor infection prevention and control procedures as the facility’s Infection Preventionist .
• Ensure patient and family satisfaction , addressing concerns and maintaining a high standard of care.
• Manage licensed staffing needs , ensuring adequate coverage to meet patient care demands.
• Lead and direct all clinical personnel , overseeing daily staffing and workflow management.
• Conduct regular staff evaluations , ensuring team members maintain necessary skills and competencies.
• Provide coaching, counseling, and training to staff, fostering a culture of excellence in patient care.
• Facilitate ongoing education and in-service training for nursing personnel.
• When necessary, provide direct patient care in preoperative, postoperative, or operating room settings.
• Participate in the facility’s quality assurance program , ensuring continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrator.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure with the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with patients, families, staff, and leadership.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• ACLS certification preferred (must obtain within six months of hire).
• Current BLS certification required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks as needed, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
