Respiratory Therapist
Overview: Department: Respiratory Therapy Facility: Resurrection Medical Center Location: 7435 W Talcott Ave, Chicago, IL 60631 Schedule: 12-hour nights rotating holidays and weekends Sign-On Bonus: $15,000.00 Resurrection Medical Center is seeking a qualified Respiratory Therapist II (RCP II / RRT) to join the Respiratory Therapy department. Under the direction of the Medical Director and Cardiopulmonary Director, the RCP II provides respiratory therapy, ventilator management, pulmonary diagnostics, airway management, and oxygen therapy for patients across the lifespan. The role emphasizes assessment, care planning, implementation, and accurate documentation in accordance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and evidence-based practices. Responsibilities: In the absence of a supervisor, the RCP II may serve as Lead Respiratory Therapist, assuming responsibility for departmental operations during the shift and supporting team development. Perform respiratory treatments, ventilator management, and pulmonary diagnostics as ordered by physicians Administer oxygen therapy, arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis, and patient assessments Collaborate with critical care, emergency, and neonatal teams to optimize patient outcomes Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards Serve as shift lead when assigned, providing guidance and mentoring Qualifications: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required 2. Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current. 3. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required 4. 2 years experience as an RCP preferred. 5. ACLS certificate within 60 day of hire and maintain current. 6. NRP certificate preferred 7. PALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current. 8. Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred 9. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $37.00 to $49.80 per hour. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
