At Sol Dog Lodge & Training Center, we believe that caring for dogs starts with caring for the people who serve them.

We are seeking an organized, motivated, and people-focused Human Resources Coordinator to join our growing nonprofit organization. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional with 1-2 years of experience who is ready to expand their skills, gain exposure to all areas of human resources, and help support a mission-driven team making a difference in the lives of dogs and the people who love them.

Today, Sol Dog employs nearly 30 dedicated team members and continues to grow. As we expand our Dog Center and prepare for the future development of a nonprofit veterinary clinic, we are looking for someone who wants to grow alongside us. This position is part-time today, with the expectation that it will evolve into a full-time role within the next 12 months.

Working directly with the Executive Director, you will gain hands-on experience in every aspect of human resources while helping create a positive, professional, and engaging workplace culture.

AGR Foundation, Inc. dba Sol Dog Lodge & Training Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the needs of all dogs and the people who love them. Through boarding, training, grooming, temporary crisis care, community education, and other supportive services, we help keep dogs in their homes and strengthen the human-animal connection throughout our community.

What You'll Do

As our Human Resources Coordinator, you'll help support the organization's day-to-day HR operations while serving as a resource for employees and management.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with employee onboarding and orientation
• Coordinating recruitment activities, interview scheduling, and hiring processes
• Supporting payroll and benefits administration
• Maintaining employee records and HR documentation
• Assisting with compliance, policies, and employment-related procedures
• Coordinating employee training and professional development activities
• Supporting employee engagement, recognition, and appreciation programs
• Assisting with employee relations and workplace communication initiatives
• Researching and helping implement HR software and systems to support organizational growth
• Creating and maintaining organized HR processes and workflows
• Providing administrative support for human resources projects and initiatives

Qualifications

Required:

• Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 1-2 years of human resources, payroll, office administration, or related experience
• Strong organizational and administrative skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business software systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidential information

Preferred:

• Experience with payroll, benefits administration, or recruiting
• Experience in a nonprofit organization
• Familiarity with HR software systems
• SHRM-CP, PHR, or coursework toward HR certification
